THE FORUM PLAZA
Designed and delivered by botton + gardiner, the custom foodcourt package for The Forum Plaza was an interesting mix of hitting a desired aesthetic with some challenging installation and functional aspects of the brief. The desired look was spacious, generous, and contemporary modular furniture. Flowing smoothly from bench to dining to pockets of planting. The desired finishes palette mixed GRC with Corian solid surface, durable DuraSlat planks and muted tones to keep the vibe calming. The installation site is a highly visible, public space with multiple stakeholders across a range of industries – from private residents, retail tenancies, property managers and owners mixed with local government interest (above the St Leonards Train Station platforms) and accessible 24hrs a day.
The client was thrilled with the overall result and transformation. The furniture package has instantly given a facelift to the site. Pedestrian foot traffic and purchasing in the tenancies is up (a much needed boost after Covid), people are enjoying the space and dining in the Plaza instead of taking their purchases away, the residents have taken a keen interest in the upgrade and security staff have been approached with very positive comments. The carefully designed elements to improve thoroughfares and rubbish collection points are functioning as intended, improving the user experience overall for customers and staff alike.
