Urban waterfront renewal

Located on the Parramatta River, the Shepherds Bay precinct redefines multi-residential living. This large-scale, master-planned, riverside community of multi-level residential apartments and shared outdoor spaces is urban rejuvenation at its best. A fully integrated design approach was taken to incorporate natural surroundings and communal pockets to offer a sustainable living environment for the health and wellbeing of the neighbourhood.

Shared outdoor spaces

An integral part of the master-planned Shepherds Bay community by Holdmark was the creation of shared outdoor spaces. Together with Site Image and Black Beetle Landscape Architects, a range of private and publicly accessible common open spaces and meandering paths and bridges were created to allow residents and passers-by to connect with each other and take time out from their busy lives.

Coordinated settings

Depending on the spatial characteristics and requirements of these common areas, a range of co-ordinated settings were specifically designed to suit these spaces.

From casual alfresco areas, barbeque social hubs to garden settings, the Avenue collection of seating and tables was selected to complement the built environment, while providing the necessary functionality of ergonomic comfort.

Linear + tapered design

Complementing the linear elements of the alfresco overhead structures, timber flooring and surrounding contemporary architecture, the Avenue benches, seats, back-to-back, platform seats and tables provide a consistent look throughout the development.

Combining rectangular battens in Mixed Red hardwood and a tapered, hot-dip galvanized steel frame, the Avenue collection is light in appearance while providing the necessary strength, robustness and longevity to withstand the harsh outdoor elements.
