Nestled along the scenic banks of the Canning River, the newly revitalised Shelley Beach Playground in Western Australia is now open—offering a dynamic, inclusive destination for families and children of all ages, designed to foster community connection, outdoor activity, and play.
The project, brought to life by the City of Canning, and landscape architects Phase3, is part of a broader commitment to improving liveability and enhancing public amenities for local residents.
As part of this community-focused initiative, botton+gardiner was proud to play a role in shaping the social infrastructure of the park—delivering high-quality furniture and urban elements that enhance usability, comfort, and longevity in this coastal setting.
Working directly with the City of Canning early in the process, botton+gardiner supported the specification and design development by offering accessibility consultation and detailed drawings to guide product selection. Our collaboration continued through the project’s delivery phase with Phase3, ensuring every finish and fixture met the performance requirements of the marine-side environment.
Featured products include:
Terrain Collection picnic settings with integrated accessible tables, benches, and seating. A hot-dip galvanised steel frame and Spotted Gum hardwood battens were specifically selected for their resilience in harsh marine conditions, while maintaining a warm, natural aesthetic.
The Noosa Bin Housing, delivering an elegant waste solution that blends seamlessly with the coastal aesthetic, was specified with marine-grade 316 Stainless Steel to ensure long-term durability in harsh coastal conditions
The popular Prospect Drinking Fountain, which complements the park’s modern design aesthetic, was also specified in marine-grade 316 Stainless Steel
With a thoughtful combination of functional design and robust materials, botton+gardiner’s solutions support the City of Canning’s vision for accessible, beautifully designed spaces.
