Northern Beaches Council’s transformation of Thomas Stephens Reserve at Church Point set out to create a more attractive, pedestrian-friendly and accessible waterfront public space. The wider upgrade included an extended timber boardwalk, restored sandstone seawall, accessible ferry gangway, as well as seating and tables that create more opportunities for people to stop, gather and spend time by the waterfront.

botton+gardiner worked with Northern Beaches Council to specify a range of Terrain Collection furniture as part of the renewed public realm.

Terrain Seats, Platform Benches, Benches, Tables and DDA compliant Tables provide a coordinated family of elements throughout the reserve, supporting accessibility and the different ways people use and enjoy the space.

The result is a considered public space where landscape, infrastructure and furniture work together to support everyday use and a more welcoming waterfront experience.
