botton+gardiner partnered directly with Queen Victoria Market to deliver a tailored waste management solution designed to improve wayfinding, sustainability and visual cohesion across the iconic precinct. As one of Melbourne’s most visited retail and tourist destinations, the Market’s large indoor–outdoor hall required a more effective and clearly branded system for public waste disposal.
To address this, we supplied 39 custom 240L Noosa Bin Enclosures as part of the project’s first phase. Key features include:
Alupanel construction for durability and long-term performance
Full vinyl graphic signage across all enclosures
Bright, intuitive artwork for organics, recycling and general waste - these bold, easy-to-spot graphics ensuring high visibility within the expansive Market Hall
Clear three-stream separation to help visitors quickly identify the correct disposal stream
Hoods or capsule tops selected based on location and operational requirements
The Market sought a consistent, high-quality solution after seeing our work at South Melbourne Market, where similar enclosures had delivered strong results. The new three-stream system at the Market helps guide users to correctly separate waste, supporting the Market’s sustainability goals while improving overall presentation and visitor experience. This upgrade marks a significant step toward a more sustainable and user-friendly Queen Victoria Market.
